Commodore’s Log
Marilyn Allen
I’m looking at this PILE of snow in my driveway and really craving some boat and beach time. How about you? Several of our members are on sailing trips to warmer locales about now. Many of the trips have been arranged through friendships and associations formedthrough the Salty Dogs.
The January meeting was our planning meeting for 2019 sailing events. If you didn’t attend, well, I hope you like what our club has scheduled. We’ll be doing a 4-day trip to Lake Mac in Nebraska, a couple of trips to Dillon, one to Pueblo (see photo), and of course our single day trips to local lakes. We’ll be doing a little more on Cherry Creek and also more weekday events, at the request of our members. Some of the Cherry Creek and
week day events might be a little more spur of the moment, so keep your eyes open for web blasts as sailing season starts. Diana Bliss, our On the Water Coordinator is working hard with the Board to put together a great sailing season that will appeal to all.
We also passed out a questionnaire to uncover what you, the club members, would like to see from our club during 2019. I know Blair Ohler, our able Vice Commodore is covering that in his log, but we’ll also be passing out the questionnaires at
Landlubbers. That will be your final chance to help guide the club to be what you, the member, want it to be.
Speaking of Landlubbers, get your checks and your reservations in NOW. We need to plan fun events and get numbers to the restaurant. $29 check, made out to Salty Dogs reserves your spot. Send to Marilyn Allen. The date is February 16 at 6 PM at
Piccolo’s. Deadline for checks is Feb. 10, but we’d sure like to hear from you before that.
